Mission Statement
Our mission is to use the game of chess to create an environment of love, learning, mentoring and hope for children from age 5 to age 13.
CPR Chess Club exists to allow children to learn and enjoy chess while experiencing healthy competition and team spirit. We use chess to improve reading skills, build self-esteem, provide cultural enrichment, develop critical thinking skills, enhance problem-solving capabilities, learn how to make good moves and good decisions in life, and competitive maturity.
Eligibility
Any Elementary School students, beginner through advanced players. Knowledge of the game is not necessary.
Club meeting time: Tuesdays 5:30 p.m to 7:00 p.m.
Our Needs
Positive men and women including college students that know how to play chess and believe that every child can succeed. It is our hope that children have opportunities to play alongside adults and this is where mentoring come in place at our club. Donation for chess supplies such as chess sets, demo boards chess bags chess clocks, etc. it is our hope that every child gets a chess board to take home. Donation for snacks Motivational speakers (someone willing to spend about 15 minutes talking to the children about life, jobs, careers, traveling etc.) to help encourage them.
